Students do not need scratch accounts; we have the desktop version installed.
The Scratch website is blocked at school, so it could be helpful for them to have a way to save their files at the end of the week. You could use a zip drive or Google Drive.

Friday will be our tournament to finish off the week!
The students should wear their camp t-shirt on Friday.
The tournaments will be live-streamed at: https://www.youtube.com/DavidDSankey. If the stream fails for any reason I will simply start a new stream.
I will buy pizza for the kids.
Want to come by? Feel free to hang out! The schedule can be a little hazy as we deal with broken robots and the occasional power outage. A great time to stop in is from 10-11. You'll be guaranteed some good action! We break for lunch whenever the pizza arrives, and then we will finish the matches.
If your child wants to continue with this project, I do recommend working with a team at school during the school year. I know that's not always possible, but most schools have some program and they generally have some robotics equipment even if they don't have an official team. It's a pretty heavy investment if you start from scratch.
I have some guidelines below if you want to think about running a team at home. Naturally, I'll be here to talk about it in case you want some help figuring out how to move forward. It's a big commitment, both in your time and money.
You will need:
3-4 committed students
Space to keep all the stuff (you may have a 6x8 field in your living room for the foreseeable future...)
Ideally, you will need at least a few hours per week to be successful. My students who excel come before and after school and spend over 10hrs/week on their projects.
You will need to buy these once:
You will need to buy these every year:
Team and event registrations can be done at robotevents.com.
Team registration: $200
Event Registrations: $50ish per event
State Championship (if qualified): 200ish + travel, food...
World Championship (if qualified): 1800ish + travel, food, lodging...
So, it's a lot to consider. Please let me know if I can assist in any way!
